What is glycine?

Glycine  is the simplest  endogenous amino acid , which the body can synthesize on its own, but its levels can also be supplemented through diet and supplementation. This occurs primarily through synthesis from choline and also through the metabolism of other amino acids, such as serine and alanine. As with other endogenous amino acids, glycine synthesis can be limited by various adverse factors, such as medical conditions that disrupt its synthesis or an unbalanced, protein-poor diet. Glycine is found in collagen proteins, meat, fish, legumes, and gelatin, among other foods, but the daily diet often fails to provide it in optimal amounts.

Glycine constitutes approximately 10–12% of all amino acids in the body and is a key component of structural proteins, particularly collagen. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, present in skin, bones, cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.

Ingredients:  100% glycine.

Recommended daily dose:  1/2 scoop once daily. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Preparation:  Dissolve 1/2 scoop (3 g) of powder in 150-200 ml of water or juice. Best consumed 30 minutes before a meal.
