Aliness proSkin Fish Collagen + Elastin Complex  is a dietary supplement in convenient sachets containing a high dose (5g) of hydrolyzed fish collagen and a specially selected complex of elastin and vitamins that support natural skin functions. The contents of the sachet can be dissolved in cold water to create a drink with a natural fruity flavor.

The product contains a unique combination of ingredients naturally occurring in the skin – collagen and elastin, as well as:

• Vitamin A,  which helps maintain healthy skin and plays a role in the process of cell specialization;
• vitamin C,  which supports the proper production of natural collagen in the skin and helps protect cells against oxidative stress;
• vitamin E,  which helps protect against the effects of free radicals.

Collagen is one of the most important and complex natural polymers. A characteristic feature of all collagen proteins is a macromolecule with a right-handed superhelix structure formed by the winding of three individual left-handed polypeptide chains, each containing approximately 1,000 amino acids.

Collagen is the main component of the extracellular matrix, found in virtually all body tissues (skin, tendons, cartilage, bones, teeth, blood vessel walls, intracorporeal membranes), providing them with resistance to stretching.

In addition to its biomechanical role, collagen, by interacting with specific receptors, influences cell adhesion, differentiation, growth, and survival. It plays an important role in organ development, tissue repair, and wound healing.

As a biological polymer, collagen is constantly synthesized and degraded in the intercellular space. In a young and healthy body, collagen undergoes regular replacement (approximately 3 kg per year) and systematic regeneration. Estrogen, insulin, and thyroid hormones, among others, contribute to the synthesis of collagen fibers, while the availability of vitamin C also has a beneficial effect.

So far, 29 types of collagen have been isolated and described, each characterized by a different structure, function and occurrence in the body. 

There are mainly two types of collagen in the skin - the dominant (as in the entire body) type I, which forms the framework and gives the skin its tension and firmness, and type III, which wraps around the collagen I framework and keeps it in the right position, provides the skin with elasticity.

With age, endogenous collagen synthesis declines, leading to collagen damage and loss, and cell renewal slows. The outer layer of the skin loses moisture and elasticity, becomes thinner, and wrinkles and furrows appear. Factors contributing to skin deterioration include UV radiation, smoking, hormonal imbalances, exposure to toxic substances, and genetic predisposition. All of these factors lead to the formation of reactive oxygen species (free radicals), which degrade the structure of connective tissue.

The fish collagen in our product is, on average, 96% type I collagen + 4% type III collagen, sourced from the skin of wild-caught cod. The manufacturer is FOS® (Friend of the Sea) certified, confirming sustainable sourcing that respects the marine environment. Both the fish are caught and the collagen is produced in the European Union.

The combination of type I and III collagens reflects the natural collagen profile of the skin, giving it appropriate elasticity.

Elastin is a key protein in the extracellular matrix (ECM), found abundantly in ligaments, blood vessels, and the dermis, where it reinforces the network of collagen fibers. Elastin molecules wrap around collagen, lending elasticity to the collagen-formed structure, helping skin maintain firmness and elasticity.

ELASTIN F. New generation elastin.

Traditionally, elastin is obtained from bovine ligaments, which raises concerns about bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). This issue has prompted scientists to seek a safe, alternative source of elastin peptide for nutraceutical and cosmetic purposes.

Elastin F  is a top-quality, natural elastin peptide obtained from skipjack tuna. Elastin F comes from the arterial bulb (Bulbus arteriosus) of the fish, which is rich in elastin fibers.

The use of enzymatic biotransformation technology during the isolation and hydrolysis process results in elastin F peptides having an exceptionally low molecular weight (below 1000 Da) and being resistant to acidic environments. This clearly distinguishes them from other types of elastin, which are commonly obtained from fish skin and bovine ligaments and are characterized by significantly higher molecular weights and lower bioavailability.

Thanks to their low molecular weight and the preservation of the integrity  of the cross-linked amino acids (desmosine and isodesmosine)  even at low pH, Elastin F peptides are highly water-soluble, allowing them to reach the skin unchanged. This allows them to be easily absorbed and incorporated directly into the skin's structures.
